Government and War History (1911-1919)
- Government: Emperor Taisho lead the government. People had more voices then they had previously. Political parties were largely influential and chose there own representatives.
- Alliance: Japan was allied with the United States o America, The United Kingdom, Russia, and France. This alliance was known as the Entente Powers. Japan joined seeing to expand spheres of influence in China and to become a world power.
- Major Victories: Siege of Tsingtao. Japan and the UK attacked a German port in China. This lasted Oct 31st - -Nov 7th, 1914. ; Capture of the Marshall, and Caroline Islands- Japan attacked and took these Pacific Ocean colonies from Germany somewhere in October 1914.
- Major Losses:The Sakai sinks. A torpedo from an Austrian Hungarian submarine strikes and sinks the Japanese destroyer the Sakai off the island of Crete May 4th, 1917. ; The Equal Rights Provision is Denied. President Wilson overturns Japan's proposal of racial equality despite the majority vote in its favor on April 11th, 1919.
